Duke University Testing Center Earns National Recertification Through 2031
Following five months of comprehensive self-assessment and review as part of the National College Testing Association's (NCTA) rigorous five-year recertification process, the Duke University Testing Center is pleased to announce that its certification has been renewed through 2031. The official notification of recertification was received from NCTA President Sally Carter on July 27, 2026.
The renewal affirms Duke’s Testing Center's continued commitment to excellence, professionalism, and adherence to nationally recognized standards for testing and assessment services. Achieving recertification required an extensive evaluation of the Testing Center's policies, procedures, facilities, security protocols, accessibility practices, staff training, and commitment to continuous improvement. The successful review demonstrates that the Testing Center continues to meet the highest standards for administering secure, equitable, and student-centered testing services.

The NCTA is the leading professional organization dedicated to promoting quality and professionalism in the administration of testing programs and services. Its work encompasses key areas such as test administration, accessibility, test development, scoring, and assessment practices. NCTA serves more than 2,300 members representing over 600 colleges and universities, along with more than 60 corporations and certification agencies across the United States, Canada, and other countries.
To earn certification, testing centers must demonstrate compliance with comprehensive standards covering every aspect of their operations from physical security and exam integrity to accessibility, staff development, and customer service. Institutions that achieve certification signal their commitment to providing reliable, fair, and professionally managed testing environments that support student success while protecting the integrity of the assessment process.
