Student Advisory Board
Emily Ford is a senior at Duke, studying Public Policy and Global Health with a minor in Spanish. She is currently involved in research with the Duke Global Mental Health Center, looking at family coping interventions and Latine families. She is deeply interested in mental health, especially from a policy and prevention lens. She serves as the Communications Chair for Duke's NAMI chapter, works on a peer support line, and is a member of the NAMI Next Gen Community of Practice. She has previously held roles at Duke as an America Reads, America Counts tutor, a GEO Field Correspondent, and an admissions tour guide. She was also a participant in DukeEngage Durham in Summer 2024, as part of which she interned with the Durham Sports Commission.
Outside of academics and career interests, Emily enjoys dancing ballet. She has been a member of Devils en Pointe for the past three years and trained in her hometown for 15 years prior to starting at Duke. She also enjoys baking and testing out new recipes.
