Duke Conversations is an undergraduate-led program that operates with financial support from OUE. Professors pick compelling themes to discuss with students during dinners in faculty homes. Students handle logistics that include professor recruitment, publicity, registration and food delivery.

Policies

If you are accepted to a dinner but are unable to attend, you must give notice at least 1 DAY IN ADVANCE to the Duke Conversations executive member responsible for your dinner notice. Otherwise, you will be prohibited from attending any Duke Conversations event for the remainder of the semester.

Free transportation to the dinner will depart the Science Center Circle no more than 5 minutes after the arrival time listed in your acceptance email. If you are late, you will be responsible for your own transportation.

Participating in a Duke Conversations event is a privilege afforded to Duke students by the generosity of Duke professors and by the Office of Undergraduate Education. Participants must be respectful not only to the professors, but also to each other and each other’s perspectives.

Hi! My name is Philippe, a class of 2023 student majoring Environmental Science + Policy from Massachusetts. A fun fact about me is that I took classes remotely in Spring 2021 to go on a road trip and fell in love with country music during that time.
