Nowicki Fellow for Student Engagement
Nina Hatami T’18 is the Nowicki Fellow for Student Engagement. As the Nowicki Fellow, Nina is responsible for serving as liaison to students throughout the university, planning various programs and events, and conducting research on issues affecting Duke undergraduates. She graduated with a BS in biology and minor in chemistry. As a student, she was a leader in the Persian Students Association and the Pre-Dental Society. She participated in a sea turtle conservation project in Turkey as part of DukeEngage. Additionally, she was involved in immunology research projects related to the gut microbiota. Nina hopes to become a dentist and provide greater access to care to underserved populations. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new places to eat in Durham, going to museums, and strolling through the Duke Gardens.
