Kisha Daniels

Assistant Professor of the Practice of Education

Gilbert -Addoms

Dr. Daniels (most students call her Dr. D), is an Assistant Professor Of the Practice in the Program in Education who proudly teaches Service-Learning courses (in PiE and AAAS).    Notably, she is actively involved with building and sustaining community partnerships in an effort to extend the scholarship of teaching through service learning. This has guided her path to focus on teacher quality, collaborative teaching and community engagement, to which she is credited with published books, journal articles, a university Teaching Excellence and international research awards.  When she isn't teaching, she is hanging out with her family traveling, watching Top Chef (or any "competition" reality TV show where someone HAS to go home :-), planning her summers around DukeEngage Chicago as a Co-Program Director and trying to find time to write the next great education opinion article! Her most recent publication is Creating Caring and Supportive Educational Environments for Meaningful Learning (https://www.igi-global.com/book/creating-caring-supportive-educational-environments/192033#table-of-contents).  She is looking forward to discussing and debating education topics with students in GA!
