Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education

Seun has worked in higher education for more than 20 years. Having grown up on academic campuses, she is driven by the transformational power of learning environments and the positive impact it can have on individual and collective lives. Seun identifies as bicultural, having been raised in Nigeria but living in the U.S for most of her life. Seun joined the Office of Undergraduate Education in June 2019 but has been a part of the Duke family for the past 12.5 years. In her previous role within Student Affairs, she served students, faculty, and staff in efforts to maximize the benefits of a culturally diverse academic landscape. As an assistant vice provost for undergraduate education, Seun’s primary role will be to provide oversight  for student and faculty engagement. Seun earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development with a focus on leadership in intercultural and international education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She obtained both her M.A. and B.A. from NC State University with a focus on cross-cultural communication and mass communication respectively.

Seun is passionate about supporting students of all backgrounds to succeed at  Duke.  Her research interests include academic success, cultural identities, immigration, and the globalization of education. She enjoys road trips with her family, international travel, reading, watching movies, and writing.
