Program Coordinator, Rubenstein Student-Athlete Civic Engagement Program (ACE)

Sean Tate joined the ACE team in the spring of 2020 as the program’s first full-time Program Coordinator. He graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Spanish studies. At Duke, he was a member of the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team. Sean is an alum of the ACE program, having taken part in the ACE in South Africa program in 2017 as an undergraduate at Duke. Before coming to ACE, Sean interned abroad for Global Vision International (GVI) in Puerto Morelos, Mexico where he worked with children in the Puerto Morelos area and taught lessons on topics including healthy living behaviors, environmental consciousness, English, physical education, and cultural awareness. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Sean enjoys playing chess, exploring the diverse North Carolina geography, and hanging out with former teammates in the Durham area.
