Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education - Strategic Initiatives & Communications

Landy Elliott is the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education -- Strategic Initiatives and Communications. In this role, Landy manages strategic project implementation, advises and supports the vice provost's strategic priorities, and works to enhance OUE's organizational effectiveness.

Prior to OUE, Landy created and managed communications strategy for Duke's Office of Federal Relations; started and ran Duke's academic and outreach center in Washington, DC, Duke in DC; and launched POLIS: The Center for Political Leadership, Innovation, and Service at the Sanford School.  While she has spent most of her career so far in the intersection of academia and political engagement, her true passion lies in turning visions into reality - and all the complexity, creativity, and teamwork that entails.  Landy is thrilled to have the opportunity to put this passion to work with and on behalf of students at Duke.

Landy earned an MS in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and her AB from Duke (T '04), where she majored in French Studies but spent much of her time purposefully wandering through all of the rich academic and co-curricular opportunities that make Duke such a special place.

A sixth generation North Carolinian, Landy loves calling Durham home and exploring all the area continues to offer.  Her hobbies and interests include hiking with her family, international travel, reading any and everything, snowboarding, and USA women's soccer.
