Program Coordinator / Advisor, Global Education Office

My path to working in the field of study abroad was far from direct, but there is no question this is where I belong.  I have a curious nature and a long-standing passion for studying languages and other cultures, with a particular affinity for all things French, my first foreign language of study.  My undergrad study abroad experience took me to Angers, France, and I went on to receive my MA from the Middlebury College School in Paris, France. I began working in international higher education in 2000, and joined GEO in 2015. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a job that allows me to facilitate transformative experiences for Duke students AND occasionally use my language skills!

A native of New York's gorgeous Hudson River Valley, I am an avid yogi, meditator, longtime vegetarian and animal rights advocate. I am addicted to kirtan (chanting), and am a proud member of the Durham-based Common Woman Chorus.

Professional Interests: French language and culture, language learning, program management, advocating for LGBTQ+ and First Gen/Low SES students, faculty collaboration, event planning
