Director of the Office of Access and Outreach and the David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program
As the director of the Office of Access & Outreach and director of the David M. Rubenstein Scholars program, Justin Clapp serves as the coordinator for all programs supporting Duke University's first-generation, low-income, racially diverse college students. He provides guidance on reaching this population and collaborates with Undergraduate Admissions to recruit students from diverse backgrounds. A first-generation college student himself, Justin grew up in Roxboro, NC, attended the NC School of Science and Mathematics, and holds a B.S. in medical anthropology and gender studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a M.Ed. from NC State University. He worked in both housing and financial aid at both NC State and Duke.
